Rules

This page serves to list the purpose of Frontline Stand, and some basic netiquette rules for our forum based on our beliefs.

1.  Purpose.  Frontline Stand is a Christian/Bible based discipleship ministry. Our purpose and goal is to help Christians of all ages grow in their faith into soldiers for Christ, prepared and equipped to fight on the frontlines of an ever-present Spiritual battle raging over the souls of mankind.  In other words, we’re here to encourage, edify, instruct, and support you in the growth of your faith so that you may be strengthened and inspired to put your faith into action in your day-to-day lives, and be the light of Christ to those around you.
We provide role-model leadership, devotionals, discussions, Bible studies, sermons, prayer boards, and more, plus links to other resources, and the positive influence of a community of other Christian members.
Our purpose here is to present the Gospel and Biblical truths “for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness,” so that the believers in Christ Jesus “may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

2. Theology.  Frontline Stand is not aligned with any specific denomination, and we welcome all backgrounds to worship, fellowship, learn, grow, and enjoy with us. We regard the Bible as our sole rule of faith and practice. We encourage discussion and hard questions; that is fine and good for growing in your faith and learning.  However, we discourage arguing/fighting over denominational differences and personal opinions, while maintaining that personal convictions should be held to as the Holy Spirit guides in accordance with the Word of God.
We also do not permit deliberately posting things that plainly contradict Scripture.  Please be prepared to back up your assertions with relevant, in-context Bible verses.

3.  Content.  Our community is family-friendly, and we ask that your posts, comments, media, and activity on this site be done keeping the purpose of this ministry in mind.  To keep Frontline Stand Christ-centered, family friendly, and user friendly, there is certain content that we do not permit.  Such Banned Content includes:
  • a.  Vulgar Language.  “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”  (Ephesians 4:29)  “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.” (Ephesians 5:4)  In light of these Scripture verses, and the potential presence of younger members, vulgar language is not allowed on Frontline Stand. This constitutes the use of any kind of offensive, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate language.  In other words, don’t cuss/curse/swear, and don’t use your words to tear others down.  Inappropriate language and behavior will promptly be removed and users will be warned.
  • b. Pornography.  “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality… I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19, 21b) This includes sexually explicit or suggestive writing, photography, artwork, etc.  We don’t want to see it.
  • c. Excessive Violence.  “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.” (Psalm 119:37)  Whether you’re posting a topic, video, devotional, image, etc.; if for some reason you need to use violence in your writing or photos, please do not post overly violent, grotesque, or otherwise bizarre content that disturbs viewers, unless it is for a specific purpose that has been approved.  Again remember the Purpose of Frontline Stand, and the member base.
  • d. Linking to aforementioned banned content.   We don’t want this kind of content displayed on our site, and we don’t want external links to it.  If you’re unsure if something is allowed, ask one of the staff members.
  • e. Spam and Unintelligible Blather.  Please make sure what you post has a clear and constructive purpose, preferably that lines up with the Purpose of Frontline Stand.  For example, don’t start a thread called “Bible verses!  Yay!” with a first post of “Me liek Psalms. <3”.  That’s just nonsense.  However, starting a coherent thread about “My favorite verses from Psalms” is fine.
  • f. Cross-Posting. If you have something to post and you're not sure which board it belongs in, do not post it in more than one board.  Duplicate threads only serve to create confusion.  We’ve tried to keep the forum simple for easy organization, however if you aren’t sure where to post something, feel free to ask one of the Frontline Stand staff members.
  • All posts are read by our admin/moderation team. If we see questionable content, it will immediately be edited or removed for further investigation.
4. Conduct.  “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” (Matthew 7:12, Luke 6:31)  Whether you profess to be a Believer in Jesus Christ or not, we expect you to exemplify maturity by following the Golden Rule and treating others with respect.  Use good judgment, and avoid giving undue offense.
Offensive conduct includes (but is not limited to):
  • a. Hate-speech.  “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Peter 3:15)  Respect fellow members’ convictions, even if you don’t agree with them.  It’s okay to argue, forcefully even, for your persuasion.  It’s not okay to disrespect your Christian brother or sister whose persuasion and/or conviction is different than yours. Think of it as debating issues, not individuals.  Truth without love is harshness.  Love without truth is sentimentality.  Speak the truth in love.
  • b. Flaming.  If you feel that somebody is wrong, attack the person’s position, not the person himself.   In order to maintain a positive atmosphere, no personal attacks or insults will be tolerated. While discussions may become heated, it is not an excuse to result to attacks or insults. There is a difference between a passionate, respectful discussion and one that delves into personal matters.  Keep your discussions civil. Reasonable argumentation (“I disagree with you for legitimate reasons X, Y and Z”) is fine.  Name-calling (“I disagree with you, and you’re stupid”) is not.
  • c. Trolling. Don’t post provocative, outrageous, or pointless messages only to get a response from others.  Be nice.  Don’t spam.  Don’t antagonize people for fun.
  • d. Honesty.  “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” (Proverbs 12:22)  “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” (Colossians 3:9-10)  “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” (Ephesians 4:25)  Be honest about who you are and what your situation is.  Do not lie in order to manipulate the emotions of others and get them to feel sorry for you.  Likewise, don’t lie about who you are so people will like you more.  There’s no need for that.  The fact is, we at Frontline Stand would rather know the real you, however weird, boring, or quirky you think you might be.  That’s what makes you YOU.
5. Safety and Privacy.  For the safety of each of our members, we ask that you do not post enough information on the boards or your profile that someone could locate you in real life.  There are provisions within the site to publish as much or as little personal information as you feel comfortable giving out to the rest of the community.  Please do not ask other members to share more personal information than they have already shared.  And for your own safety, if someone tries to solicit more information from you than you have already comfortably shared, inform a mod or admin immediately.

6. Admin/Moderation Team.  Our staff are here to supervise and keep the site orderly so that the mission and focus of Frontline Stand (to disciple Christians, and aid in the growth of their faith) can continue to reach and touch the lives of those who are present on our site.
  • a. Questioning the admin/moderation team.  If you have a problem with a staff member, complaint against them, or feel they have acted wrongly, you are welcome to let them know.  They are open to criticism and will carefully and seriously weigh your concerns as long as you go about it respectfully. However, we ask that you not go about this through the public community.  Contact them privately to resolve the matter.
  • c. “Elastic Clause.” At their discretion, the admin/moderation team will decide what is and is not appropriate for Frontline Stand in accordance with the stated Purpose and focal ministry of this site.  Just because you post something not specifically addressed in these rules doesn’t mean the administration team approves of it.  To quote a common phrase, "Pray before you post!"
  • d. Disciplining Members.  This is a not-so-pleasant topic, but one that needs to be brought to attention.  We don't just have these rules here to look pretty; we expect you as a member to abide by them for the sake of everyone else here at Frontline Stand.  If rules are broken, the admin/moderation team has the authority to issue warnings and limit forum privileges if problems persist.  These are things that we do not relish.  However, offenses and violations of these rules must be handled appropriately, and repeated offenses with no indication of change may result in banning.
We don't want our forums to be dominated by a bunch of rules, but we feel that the guidelines listed above should be held to for the safety and sake of our member base, as well as keep our forums focused on the purpose of this ministry.
Thank you for taking time to read these, and thank you in advance for following them to the best of your ability.
